Heidi Klum arrived at her annual Halloween gathering in New York on Saturday disguised as a large, severed human hand. The 25th iteration of the event featured the model in a bloody prosthetic mask that covered her entire body, leaving only her eyes and mouth visible. Blood dripped from her lips as she extended her tongue, while the top of the hand displayed dangling ligaments and tendons. Several assistants in blood-stained hazmat suits accompanied her.

Klum explained that the concept for the costume began forming last year. She decided to replicate her own left hand, including long red nails, a thumb ring, and her engagement and wedding bands. "I looked at my hand and I thought, ‘Hey, I think I could fit my body in this somehow,’” she said.

The preparation process was time-consuming. Klum stated it took approximately five to six hours to apply the prosthetics this year, though the construction of the costume required significantly more time. She shared images of the application process on Instagram earlier in the day. "Hands down, the hardest thing is carrying it. It’s quite heavy," she noted.

The supermodel has a history of elaborate disguises for the party. In 2022, she arrived on a fishing line inside a worm costume. Previous years saw her dress as Medusa, a peacock, an eight-foot Transformer, a werewolf, a clone, and the Hindu goddess Kali.

Musician Tom Kaulitz, Klum’s husband, missed the event due to a tour schedule. However, his name is tattooed on the ring finger of the prosthetic hand, along with representations of palm lines and veins. "A little bit of Tom is with me," Klum said.
