Hillsborough County has 232 polling sites opening Tuesday for the midterm election, and more than 2,000 poll workers have completed the training needed to staff them.
County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer said clerks are collecting the supplies required to run each site on the day. "We've got 232 polling sites throughout the county for election day," Latimer said. "Over 2,000 poll workers that have been through training and be ready to assist voters when they show up."
Voters must cast Election Day ballots at their assigned precinct, not at any site in the county. Latimer is asking residents who have not voted to review the sample ballot mailed to them before Tuesday. Six amendments appear on the ballot, and he warned that reading and deciding on them at the booth could take about 30 minutes.
Early voting runs Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. After that window closes, the next chance to vote in person is Tuesday. Voters going to the polls that day must bring a valid form of ID.
Latimer's office has distributed sample ballots to households that have not yet voted. The county is preparing 232 sites for Tuesday's midterm election as the early voting period ends.
