The Sandy Springs City Council will consider a $515,000 construction contract for a temporary Fire Station No. 1 at its Nov. 3 meeting. The project is necessary to keep emergency response services running while the permanent station at 1425 Spalding Drive undergoes demolition and reconstruction.

The recommended vendor for the temporary structure is F.H. Paschen, S.N. Nielsen & Associates, Inc. The current project balance for the station is $262,401. To cover the full contract cost, city staff propose transferring $300,000 from the capital contingency fund. A staff memo states that these budget amendments will not increase the total Fiscal Year 2027 budget or overall fund expenditures.

The council will also vote on a separate digital service upgrade. As part of the Citywide Digital Service Delivery Project, the city plans to replace its existing Lucity platform with Salesforce. This change affects call center intake, work order management, and asset management systems.

The total project budget for the platform replacement is $1 million. If approved, the council will authorize a $711,750 contract with StackNexus for implementation services. The city will also purchase Salesforce licensing for a first-year fee of $220,833. StackNexus will implement the customer relationship management platform for the municipality.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, in the studio theater at Sandy Springs City Hall, 1 Galambos Way. The session is open to the public and will be streamed live at sandyspringsga.gov/stream. Staffers will present the budget amendments and the digital service contract for a vote during the session.

Appen Media has requested additional information from the city regarding the specific details of the budget amendments. The outlet plans to update its reporting once the city provides a response to those inquiries.
