Bamboo earrings are back.

The jewelry design, popular in the 1980s and 1990s, has returned to mainstream fashion. The Solstice Hoop from Christin Marie Studio adapts this classic shape. The new piece joins the brand’s existing Solstice collection.

Christin Marie Nichols, the studio’s founder, explained the design choice in a statement to Hello Beautiful. She said the brand pays homage to the bamboo hoop as an iconic staple in Black women’s fashion. Nichols described the new earring as a reimagined version of that classic. She added that the piece is intended for the culture.

The studio currently ranks as the number one jewelry brand on TikTok Shop. It grew over three years through customer demand and community engagement. The company did not use paid advertising during that expansion period. Its original Solstice collection established the brand’s reputation. CMS later expanded with the Midnight Tennis collection and a Dreamscape pop-up at The Grove in Los Angeles.

Nichols is a nominee for the 2026 Glossy Fashion and Luxury Awards for Best Use of TikTok Shop. The brand cites the Solstice collection as a major part of its legacy. The new earring marks the first time the Solstice line includes an earring.

The Solstice Hoop will be available for purchase on November 27, 2026. Customers can buy the item at christinmariestudio.com.
