Kylian Mbappé converted an 11th-minute penalty to give Real Madrid a 3-0 win over Racing Santander on Sunday. The French forward had been fouled himself in the build-up to the kick. His strike marked his 12th league goal of the season.

Midfielder Jude Bellingham added the second goal midway through the first half. Mbappé was involved in that play as well. Summer signing Yan Diomandé finished the scoring before halftime with a powerful strike. The result keeps Real Madrid in third place in La Liga.

The club sits one point behind Atletico Madrid and three points behind Barcelona. Barcelona currently leads the Spanish top flight. Real Madrid held a moment of silence before the match to honor victims of a recent train crash in Spain.

In Italy, Lazio moved to the top of Serie A with a 2-1 victory over Cagliari. Striker M’Bala Nzola put Cagliari ahead in the 21st minute. Gustav Isaksen equalized for Lazio late in the first half. The match remained tight until the final minutes.

Substitute Andrea Pinamonti scored the winner in the 83rd minute. He ripped off his jersey in celebration. Lazio’s win puts them three points ahead of defending champion Inter Milan. Inter lost to city rival AC Milan on Saturday.

Other results included a 3-1 win for Getafe over Sevilla. Martín Satriano set up the equalizer for Enes Ünal and then scored himself. Orel Mangala added a late goal for Getafe. In the Premier League, Arsenal hosted Liverpool with a chance to extend their lead to three points.

Juventus hosted Napoli later in the day. In other Serie A action, Como beat Venezia 1-0 thanks to a late first-half penalty from Lucas Da Cunha. Venezia has lost nine of its last 10 games. Frosinone secured sixth place with a 2-0 win over Torino.
