Olivia Rodrigo performed her second and final Columbus show on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Schottenstein Center, concluding her two-night run for The Unraveled Tour. The tour supports her June 12 album, “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.” Her previous performance took place on Oct. 29 at the venue located at 555 Borror Dr.
The concert followed a structured narrative that moved through the four seasons, beginning with spring and returning to spring at the conclusion. British alternative rock band Wolf Alice opened the evening. Their set concluded with the track “Don’t Delete The Kisses.”
Rodrigo opened her set with “drop dead.” The stage featured a floral arrangement and pink confetti. She wore a pink, heart-shaped guitar during “so american.” The first act included “u + me = <3” and “good 4 u.” During the latter song, she threw flowers onto the stage to match the punk-rock style of the track.
A golden hue signaled the summer segment. Rodrigo re-entered with a guitar solo for “my way.” She performed “serena joy,” a single released on Aug. 24. The song commemorates Daisy Chain Fields, a female-fronted music festival held on Aug. 29 in Irvine, California.
The fall segment began on a secondary stage with “stupid song.” Rodrigo returned to the main stage for “maggots for brains.” The audience sang the outro. She performed “pretty isn’t pretty” and “begged” before playing “cigarette smoke” under billowing smoke.
The winter section featured “honeybee,” “favorite crime,” and “driver’s license” performed on piano under a snow effect. She moved to a secondary stage for “less” and “the cure.” Rain fell during “the cure,” melting her dress to reveal a red bodysuit.
The second spring segment began with “deja vu.” Rodrigo wore a T-shirt that read “Dr. Amy Acton for Governor.” She endorsed Acton, the Democratic nominee for Ohio governor, and urged attendees to vote. The concert closed with “all american b, -” and “expectations.”
Rodrigo is a Grammy Award-winning pop singer-songwriter. The Schottenstein Center website lists the Friday performance as the second Columbus show of the tour.
