Woman missing since Thursday found dead in mountain crash
Kandice Gunter, 30, was discovered in her truck on Sunday after it went over a guardrail on Wyoming Highway 251.

Police in Wyoming identified Kandice Gunter, 30, as the driver found dead in a vehicle that left the roadway on Casper Mountain Road on Sunday morning. The Natrona County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identification after the wreck on Wyoming Highway 251.
First responders arrived near Lookout Point at 9:20 a.m. on Sunday. They located the vehicle down the hillside after it broke through a guardrail. Gunter was the only person inside the car. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
Gunter had been reported missing to the Casper Police Department on Thursday evening, October 29. Her disappearance prompted a public search for her gray 2016 GMC Canyon pickup truck. Authorities noted that her phone was last tracked on Friday afternoon near the Natrona County line on Wyoming Highway 387.
The accident required traffic on the mountain road to be reduced to a single lane on Sunday. Recovery teams worked the steep slope while multiple agencies coordinated their response. These groups included the Casper Police Department, Natrona County Sheriff’s Office, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Casper Fire-EMS, and the Natrona County Fire Protection District.
The Casper Police Department stated that the cause of death and the specific circumstances of the crash are under investigation. Investigators said there is no evidence indicating foul play or the presence of another person in the vehicle.
